📊 Club Records: Now Seasonal and All-Time

From Season 7 onwards, you’ll be able to view your club’s goals scored ⚽ and appearances made 👕 across both seasonal and all-time leaderboards.

This means you can now track how your players perform across individual seasons — and also celebrate the legends who have made their mark across your club’s full history.

It’s a small but important step in making your club’s story more visible, with future updates planned to expand the records even further.

(Note: We’re still working on backdating stats from earlier seasons — stay tuned.)

🛠️ Match Test Tool Built for the Future

While there aren’t any direct match engine changes going live this season, a major step forward has been taken behind the scenes.

We’ve majorly upgraded our internal match test tool, allowing our team to simulate, mass test, and fine-tune different match engine configurations with far greater control than ever before.

This means future improvements can be tested much more thoroughly and issues can be caught and corrected before they ever reach live matches. Over the past season, we’ve made important foundational improvements to the match engine, and now, with this new internal test tool in place, we have much greater ability to fine-tune, improve, and iterate at a faster pace.

This unlocks a new level of testing and quality control that will help us continue strengthening the matchday experience over the seasons ahead.

🌍 Building the Ultimate Social Football Experience

At Footium, we believe managing a club isn’t just about tactics it’s about building a community, sharing your journey, and creating stories that live beyond the pitch.

Season 7 takes the next step toward that vision.

We’ve added a new social share button on every match page making it easy to post your results, match moments, and key highlights directly to Twitter with a single click.

📈 Even more exciting: the Club Social Leaderboard is now live inside the game.

Over the last season, it’s been incredible to see club accounts coming to life.

• This season (and we’re not even finished yet): 65K — a 182% increase!

Your clubs are building real fanbases and the Club Social Leaderboard now lets you track it live in-game. Who’s the biggest club off the pitch? Who’s building the strongest following? Now you can find out. We have even bigger plans for Footium’s social ecosystem making your club’s voice, brand, and fans just as important as what happens on the pitch.

🎙️ Commentary Upgrades

As part of our continuous improvements, match commentary has been refined again for Season 7. Expect:

🎓 Academy Refresh

7 fresh academy prospects await each club. As always:

• You’ll need ETH on Arbitrum to sign them
• 90% of signing fees go straight into your division’s reward pool
• Players join your squad instantly, even outside transfer windows

With Portugal joining the Footium universe, you’ll be getting 2 Portuguese players in your academy… you might just uncover the next Bruno Fernandes or Diogo Dalot to sign to your squad! 👀

💰 Fewer Legendary Auctions

Just 9 Legendary Players will be auctioned this season, split across 3 batches. As the Legendary Player population has now reached a more desirable level across Footium, we’re reducing the number released each season to maintain their rarity, value and impact on clubs.

In honour of Portugal entering the Footium universe, some of this season’s Legends will be Portuguese!

🟥 Batch 1: Sunday, 27th April → Monday, 28th April

🟩 Batch 2: Monday, 28th April → Tuesday, 29th April

⬜ Batch 3: Tuesday, 29th April → Wednesday, 30th April

🚨 Addressing Match Integrity

We are aware of growing concerns from the community regarding match fixing, particularly in the top divisions and agree that it’s important to address.

Maintaining a fair and competitive environment is vital for Footium’s long-term success. This season, we are introducing measures to discourage unsporting behaviour and protect the integrity of competition.

Key points:

• Deliberately throwing matches (especially for the benefit of clubs you own or are associated with) is not allowed.
• Reports can be submitted privately through our Discord ticket system for investigation.
• Where match fixing is confirmed, we reserve the right to punish the involved clubs and wallets.

We won’t be publishing a full list of examples publicly, as it’s important to retain flexibility when reviewing reports. However, suspicious patterns, such as fielding full squads of low-rated players without a clear reason, will be investigated. This is not aimed at honest mistakes or occasional squad management issues. The focus is on cases where there is a clear intent to undermine fair competition. We want to be clear that our focus is on deliberate match fixing intended to unfairly influence league outcomes for personal gain, such as a manager fielding weaker sides against their own linked clubs but competing at full strength against others.

We appreciate the feedback and want to assure everyone that action is being taken to strengthen the game for the long term.

Footium’s long-term vision is clear but building the ultimate social football management game takes the right people, not just more people.

Right now, we’re actively hiring for two developer roles to expand our team. Finding the right fit for Footium is hugely important to us. We’re not just looking to hire quickly, we want people who share our ambition for the game and can help push it to the next level.

Recruitment naturally takes time, but it’s a vital part of laying the foundations for faster updates, bigger features, and a better experience for everyone. Off the back of a really successful Sorare campaign before Season 6, we’re running it back for Season 7!

This time, we’re welcoming new players from StocksFC, Photo Finish (PFL), and Zed Run as well.

Here’s how it works:

• Buy your first Footium club between April 17th–30th
• Fill out the campaign Typeform to confirm you’re an active player from Sorare, StocksFC, PFL, or Zed
• You’ll then be entered into an exclusive prize draw for players and badge upgrades

Referrals make it even better:
