We know it’s a much shorter turnaround this time between announcing the season and kicking things off and that’s because we’ve been pushing hard to get this big improvement ready for you. It’s taken a lot of testing and iteration, but we wanted to make sure it landed in time for Season 11.

This is the season where Footium changes forever!

For the first time, managers can buy and sell players & clubs directly inside the game with the brand-new in-game embedded transfer market. No more jumping between platforms, no more OpenSea confusion, just a seamless experience built into Footium itself.

It’s been one of the most requested features since launch, and it’s finally here. In fact, this is the very [REDACTED] we’ve been teasing for weeks. But that’s not all, season 11 also introduces a brand-new Legendary Auction experience, another new nation in the Footium universe, and the return of Caretaker Managers for those yet to secure their first club.

🔄 The Footium Transfer Market Goes In-Game

We are so excited to say that from Season 11, managers can trade players directly inside Footium with the brand-new, fully embedded in-game transfer market.

No more hopping between tabs. No more explaining OpenSea to new users. Just a seamless marketplace built into the game itself. The team has worked incredibly hard to get this live ahead of schedule, and this first version is only the beginning (give them their flowers in Discord 🙏). We’ll be looking closely at your feedback as we keep improving it throughout future seasons!

What you can do

• Smart filters built for managers → From age and position to potential and registration status, searches are tailored for football management.
• Quality of life upgrades → Retired players are automatically filtered out, and during the season registered players are hidden from default listings (they can still be searched for if needed). This makes it smoother for everyone to find the right signing without mistakes.
• Real-time updates → Listings and filters update quickly so you can react as the market shifts, no more stale metadata or accidentally buying a player already registered to another club.
• Buy & sell clubs → For the first time, clubs themselves can also be listed and purchased directly in-game.
• Dual visibility → Every in-game listing also appears on OpenSea, and every OpenSea listing aggregates back into Footium.

Everything you’d expect from a transfer market, but now fully embedded into Footium, with the power of customisation on our end to make it smoother, smarter, and built for finding your next star player. And this is just the start, we’d love to hear your ideas on how it can be improved further!

Key things to know

• You’ll need to sign the “Sign in with Ethereum” popup when logging in to use the market.
• Listings created in-game also appear on OpenSea.
• Listings created on OpenSea are aggregated into the Footium marketplace.
• Filtering and navigation will continue to evolve with your feedback, this is just the beginning.
• The marketplace uses the Seaport protocol on the backend, meaning OpenSea still handles settlement, but the entire interface is fully embedded within Footium.

🪙 Legendary Auctions Rebuilt — A Bespoke Footium Experience

Legendary Players return for Season 11 and this time, they’re being auctioned in a way that finally feels built for Footium. We’ve moved away from OpenSea and created a bespoke Footium-branded auction site in partnership with GBM Auctions.

Classic English Auction, Footium Style

• Simple bidding → Highest bid at the deadline wins.
• No bid removals → What you see is what you get.
• 5-minute extension → Any bid placed in the final 5 minutes resets the timer back to 5 full minutes.
• Cleaner interface → Built for auctions

Powered by GBM’s Bid-to-Earn

Our new auction site is powered by GBM’s Win-Win technology, which means every bid matters:

• If you win, you get the Legend.
• If you’re outbid, you earn ETH rewards back.

Rewards are set to GBM’s high setting, meaning you can earn back up to 10% of your total bid if you’re outbid (depending on how much higher the next bid is).

Auction Details

• Format: Classic English auction (highest bid wins at the deadline)
• Length: Auctions now run for 1 hour (not 24 hours), all the action happens when it matters.
• Extension Rule: Any bid in the final 5 minutes extends the auction by another 5 minutes
• Rewards: GBM-powered Bid-to-Earn rewards for outbid bidders (earlier bids = bigger rewards)
• Mobile: Currently in beta, it should work, however for the best experience, we recommend desktop
• All bids are in ETH on Arbitrum - you will not need WETH

📅 Legendary Auction Schedule:

• Batch 1: Friday 29th August — starts at 4:00pm BST, ends at 5:00pm BST (unless extended)
• Batch 2: Saturday 30th August — starts at 7:00pm BST, ends at 8:00pm BST (unless extended)
• Batch 3: Sunday 31st August — starts at 6:00pm BST, ends at 7:00pm BST (unless extended)

⏱️ Remember: if a bid is placed in the final 5 minutes, the timer resets back to 5 minutes, so auctions can extend past the scheduled end time.

🌍 Senegal Joins the Game

Say hello to Senegal 🇸🇳, the newest nation in Footium.

After a fiercely contested set of community Twitter polls, Senegal came out on top and now takes its place in the Footium universe.

From powerhouse players to exciting youth prospects, Senegalese talent will begin appearing in academies and across the transfer market this season. And to mark the occasion, a couple of Senegalese Legends will also be entering the game through our rebuilt Legendary Auctions.

Another flag for your squad. Another story waiting to be told!

🍕 Community Celebration: London Meetup

Last weekend we hosted another Footium community meetup on a rooftop in London, complete with football quizzes, free pizza, drinks, and live Premier League action afterwards.

From Smith Smith’s printed card to Spud, Mozza, Royalivi and the usual suspects, it was so good to spend an afternoon chatting football, Footium, and everything else with you all. There was some unreal football knowledge on display in the live IRL quiz too.

An amazing day with amazing people and we can’t wait to do more of these in the future <3

✍️ Mentality Balance Adjustment

We’ve made a small adjustment to mentality effects based on your feedback and what we were seeing in-game.

The “downsides” of each mentality (like defensive weakness when pushing attacking) remain the same, but the positive boost has been tuned down slightly. For example, going Attacking still increases your offensive output, but the impact is now a little less extreme than before.

This is a small change, but it should make matches feel fairer and better balanced overall.

• Fixed promotion zones showing in Division 1 and Relegation zones shown in Division 8 despite there not being promotion + relegation there
• Division history chart in Club Achievements linked to incorrect tournament
• Re-arranged club drop-down to improve UX
